FEATURE ARTICLE

New Attaché Module Updates!

You would know from recent newsletters that the new versions of Attaché Payroll and Attaché Accounts have been available for download since late 2009.

To ensure compatibility, Attaché have released updated versions of the following modules: ODBC, Archive, Contacts and Alex Connect.  If you have updated to the latest versions of Attaché and use any of these modules then you need to download and install these updates.

These updates are free and available on the Attaché Members website; simply log on and select the link to the Download Centre. We strongly encourage everyone upgrading to seek assistance from our Attaché Consultants, either through telephone support or by arranging for a Consultant to visit your onsite and run the upgrade.

MODULE OF THE MONTH

Attaché Archive is a purpose-built tool designed to keep your Attaché data safe. It simplifies the task, and eliminates problems caused by staff changes, sometimes simply because of forgetting or being “too busy”.
Attaché Archive comes preconfigured to ensure it only copies the required files and, importantly, ignores files it shouldn’t copy, such as temporary Alex document files.
So that all operators can create backups, Attaché Archive stores backups in a pre-determined place on your system.
Restoring data is as simple as “point and click”. Your archives are sorted by date and time so it’s easy to find the most recent copy. For additional security, only authorised operators can use Archive to restore data, which protects you from people restoring over current data.

KNOWN ISSUES

Issue:
In the current release of Attaché Accounts 1.00 some users will find that when creating a Bank Deposit, Cheque Payment — Cheque List/Update in Attaché Accounts or Bank Transfer, Cheques/Listing and Magnetic Media File in Attaché Payroll, transactions will not be displayed.

Workaround: Select Yes or No to the confirmation message and it will then be displayed.

TIP OF THE Month

The Menu Access function within Attaché software allows the program items displayed on screens to be tailored to individual users.

Programs which are not accessed by a user should be removed from the menu display using the Hide Tabs (F8) key or by Yes/No selections, tailoring the menu choices available to reflect the tasks carried out by that user. Once Menu Access Rights have been set up they will activate the next time the user accesses the company. The menu display will reflect the user's Menu Access Rights.

As Menu Access selections are "per Company" a user may have a different menu display for each company accessed.

If you would like further advice on setting menu access, please contact our Support Team via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or phone 9836 6555 Option 3.
