Over the next couple of months Acacia will be unveiling a number of new innovations to enhance the product support we already offer our clients. See our Feature Article below to get a taste of our new online support ticketing system and the chance to be a pilot testing site. In addition, in the coming weeks we will start uploading short webinars on common features and tasks within the software that can be viewed and re-viewed at any time for your convenience. Acacia is taking its tech support to a new level! Acacia Consulting Services will soon be launching a new Support Ticketing System! This will allow you to submit support issues directly via the Acacia website. We are currently testing the system internally and will shortly be looking for a number of pilots clients to help with testing and evaluating this new system. Once testing is complete you will be sent a user name and password with full instructions on how to use this exciting new system. You will be able to electronically lodge a support ticket which allows you to track the progress of your ticket and confirm who is dealing with your issue at a single glance. Furthermore there is functionality to send required file attachments when submitting or updating a ticket, ensuring all information can be found in the one location. The Module of the Month for August is part of the new Clearview Suite - Report Writer! Reports Designer gives you the information you need from your Attaché system when you need it most, including on-screen views of your critical business intelligence and CRM information. Dashboards - You use Reports Designer to add new views or amend the standard ClearView Dashboards to create sophisticated on-screen enquiries for your customers, products, suppliers, financial data and more. Enquiries can include parameter selection to give report-like functionality (for example range on date range). Integrated reporting - With Reports Designer you can easily access your Attaché data and many other external systems including Microsoft Access and Excel, with the transactions refreshed as required. As your report selections grow, you can list them so the most commonly used reports appear at the top. Online library of reports - Take advantage of the experience of similar businesses by searching the online library of custom reports to view and download sample outputs. All reports can be customised further to meet your needs — just save and modify to suit. SQL query builder - Users with no experience can still produce excellent reports in minutes. Based on your selections, the SQL query is created automatically into your report. Professional results - You can include images such as your company logo, display a chart, select a font, colour and border for each report field and insert lines as desired. Information can be sorted and grouped as needed, with headers and footers for each level and report ranges and parameters shown for ease of analysis. KNOWN ISSUES
Issue: In Supplier transaction entry, some users will not be able to use Insert (F11) to insert a new line above an existing Sundry Line. This occurs when there is no Product Code on the Sundry Line.
Workaround: There are different workarounds depending on the Sundry Line setup. If there is a Product Code field on the Sundry Line, simply enter a Product Code (e.g. SUNDRY) and Accept (F9) the line. If there is no Product Code field on the Sundry Line, choose Insert (F11) on a Product Line, or, add the new line below the existing lines. (Alternatively, you can use Screen Designer to add the Product Code field to the Sundry Line on the transaction-entry screen.) CONTACT & SUPPORT

ALEX DOCUMENTS IN HOTMAIL & OTHER WEBMAIL CLIENTS Due to the constant proliferation of Spam, many webmail clients such as Hotmail have implemented very stringent spam filters that may inadvertantly catch legitimate documents sent via Alex. As the most popular Webmail client, below are instructions that you can supply to people who receive Alex documents via Hotmail to ensure your documents arrive safely. The Hotmail user will need to complete the following steps to receive their Alex documents: 1. Login to your e-mail account 2. On the right hand corner, click on the Options 3. On the Junk E-mail Section, select Safe and Blocked Senders. 4. Click on Safe Senders 5. On the next screen you need to add the following Details. Enter - mailforalex.com The hotmail user should then have any documents you send via Alex go to their Inbox, rather than being tagged as spam. While these specific instructions are specific to Hotmail, the general principle of setting mailforalex.com as a safe sender applies to any other webmail client such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc. Simply follow the steps for setting safe senders specific to that webmail client.
